THE GRAND FINALE!!

Yes Yes!! You know it…..Raja Hasan IS the IPL Rockstar!!

Raja Hasan won the title after defeating Arnab Chaturvedi and Aishwarya Nigam.

In the first round, Raja Hasan sang Tanhayee from Dil Chahta Hain, sung originally by Sonu Nigam; A difficult song to perform on. Check out the video.

Raja Hasan was awarded with 17 points in the first round, after which, Aishwarya Nigam was eliminated as he was the lowest scorer, with 16 points.

The Final Round was a Jugalbandi, on Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. Sukhvinder Singh said one thing – ”Ek ne gaaya aur ek ne nibhaya. Jeetega wahi…jisne gaaya!” And with full 20 marks, Raja Hasan was announced as the ‘First IPL Rockstar!’ 

IPL Rockstar – 18th April, 2010.

Son of Bappi Lehari and Music Director, Bappa Lehari  was the special guest on the show today, along with Neetu Chandra. He told how Raja Hasan and he had become buddies and jammed together! He also expressed the desire of working with Raja again. Raja Hasan has sung ‘Dhun Lagi’ and ‘Agre ka Ghagre pe’ for the film, Jai Veeru.

A nice performance by Raja Hasan on the title track of the film, Mujhe Kuch Khena Hai. Certain portions were totally out of the world, while at two – three place, I feel Raja Hasan could have done better. All in all, a very decent performance.

IPL Rockstar – 17th April, 2010.

The episode started with a performance by the Top 5 contestants on ‘Pappu Can’t Dance, Saala’ form the film, Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na.

The theme for the day was, the living legend – A.R.Rahman. Raja Hasan performed on the song ‘Titli Daboch li Maine’ from Meenaksi – A Tale of Two Cities and was praised by one and all. Sukhvinder Singh has just one word to say – Excellent!! Kailash Kher gave Raja Hasan an 9 and also said that performance was by far the most clean and honest performance on IPL Rockstar.

IPL Rockstar – 11th April, 2010.

With the theme of Retro, Raja Hasan gave a creditable performance on the song, Yaad aa Raha Hai Tera Pyaar (Disco Dancer). This song is sung and composed by Bappi Lehari. Sukhvinder Singh awarded the performance with an 8.5.

Rahul Saxena was eliminated today.

IPL Rockstar – 10th April, 2010.

Today’s show started with the merging of Saturday and Sunday Rockers. The 6 final Rockers performed on the title track of the film, Om Shanti Om. Here is the video where we can see how Raja Hasan manages his steps along with his singing!

Raja Hasan’s today’s song was Lagan Lagi, sung originally by Sukhvinder Singh. The comments were good but Kailash Kher gave only an 8 while Sukhvinder Singh gave an 8.5 making a total of 16.5. Honestly, I loved the performance. Here is the video for you to decide yourself.

Raja Hasan was in bottom two tonight. Yashita was the lowest scorer but the judges decided that there would be no elimination tonight.
