SaReGaMaPa Mega Challenge!!

Zee TV is now bringing to the viewers a unique musical show which will bring together the talents from various states. The show titled SaReGaMaPa Mega Challenge, will see three singers representing one state. In total, there will be eight states. This show was earlier titled ‘Mahakumbh’.

According to our source, “This show will bring together the gems of SaReGaMaPa and other musical shows of Zee TV. The eight states which will be shown in the show are Rajasthan, Maharasthra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Assam, Kolkata and Punjab”.

The contestants taking part in the show will represent the state they belong to.

“Rajasthan will have Raja Hasan and Priyanka Malya, while the third contestant is yet to be finalized”, informs our source.

“Vaishali Made, Rohit Shyam Rao and Kaushik Deshpande will represent the Maharashtra team, while Poonam Yadav, Twinkle Bajpai and Yatharth Ratnum will represent Uttar Pradesh. Sumedha Karmahe, Aamir Hafiz, Pratibha Singh Badhel will be in the Madhya Pradesh group, famous singer who has sung for Saawariyan Parthiv Goel, Deepali Somayiah, Prachee Shah will represent Gujarat. Assam will have Anamika Choudhury, Joy Chakraborthy and Abhigyan Das. Kolkata will see the likes of Sanchita Bhattacharya, Ujjaini Mukherjee and Abhijeet Ghoshal. Punjab will be represented by Rohanpreet Singh, Tarun Sagar and Mitika Kanwar”, further informs our source.

“Aneek Dhar was also to take part in the show, but he could not due to prior commitments”, adds our source.

“The shoot for the show will being on 27th October and the first episode will be aired on 30th October. SaReGaMaPa Mega Challenge will replace SaReGaMaPa L’il Champs”, adds our source.

The show will begin with a Prelim Round wherein one state will be pitted against another state. The four states winning in the Prelim Rounds will move to the Semifinals, which will be followed by the Finals.

“The anchor for the show is not yet decided, and will be finalized in few days’ time. There will not be any permanent judge in the show. We will see many veteran musical geniuses like Asha Bhonsle, Pyarelelji and Pandit Jasraj judge the contestants. Every episode will have a new judge”, informs our source.

So get ready for this unique musical extravaganza coming from Zee TV…

Recession hits Rajasthan stars!

It’s not just layoffs and roll backs. Recession seems to have made an impact on Jaipur’s creative brigade as well, and here’s how.

Actors and singers from the state based in Mumbai have lost out on big projects and good work because of the recession. “I signed three big projects and had some great modelling assignments.

Needless to say, I was on cloud nine until I discovered that shooting for none of the three movies would start due to lack of finances,” says model-turned-actor from Jaipur, Ashish Sablawat. Even actor Arjaan Bajwa, who was planning to cash in on the success of Fashion, has lost out on work. “I was working in five films that started this year and were stopped midway due to the lack of finances and three big banner films that were to take off in March still haven’t started, it’s depressing, but it’s happening to everyone,” says Bajwa.

Even singers from Jaipur are facing a bad time, not just because the number of shows and concerts have reduced due to the recession, but many of their projects haven’t taken off at all. Says singer Ravinder Upadhyay, “My first album that was released just last month, was my dream project and I really worked hard for it, but though the audio released on time, the video of the album has delayed till the recession ends. It has demotivated me.” Raja Hasan says that he’s been facing disappointment from all quarters. “There are hardly any concerts now, and even when there are, organisers are hiring bigger stars because they have reduced their prices. Also, recording of many movie songs have got delayed because of recession,” he says.

However, each one of them has now found ways to beat the recession blues. Despite the tough times Hasan has launched his first album and says it helped to pull up his spirits. Upadhyay too is working on his new album. Sablawat says that he has taken up more modelling assignments and plans to turn to TV, as he awaits the big offers.
