Raja Hasan – The Special Treatment!!

Raja Hasan is miles ahead than many others, when it comes to winning hearts.

After listening to his humble and genuine voice, not only we fans but the Maestro himself seems got very much impressed with Raja Hasan that he preferred to give a special treatment in the Jai Ho, Pune concert. Raja Hasan was only one amongst all the singers who got his name flashed on the screens while performing. Way to go Raja……

This is how one of the die hard fans of Maestro Rahman, who was at the show describes the whole event.

As expected, there was huge young crowd and all Pune roads seemed like flowing towards the Balewadi stadium. But there were aunties and oldies too and even families attending with 2 year olds. Hats off to Pune’s music lovers… they attend Sawai Gandharv and Rehman with equal enthusiasm !
He started with “Jage hai der tak” followed by a Tamil song. I thought ab toh gaya… people will boo him for playing Tamil song. They just waited patiently for next one to come. The patience was paid off very well when he started “Jiya se jiya”. That song has enchanting beats which make it more enjoyable live.

Jaage hai der tak

There was Hariharan singing “Roja janeman”, Rashid Ali singing “Kabhi kabhi aditi”, Sadhana Sargam singing “Chupake Se”… all the Delhi6 songs were sung and so were “Kaise muze tum mil gayee” and “Maiyya Maiyya”. No singers were introduced apart from Raja Hasan whose name flashed across the backstage.

The man himself performed “Dilse”, “Rehna tu” and “Aarziyan”

Aarziyan

My verdict……..Awsome show!!! still have hangover of it. Afterall you dont get to listen Rahman playing piano live with Hariharan singing “Thu hi re”, Roop kumar rathod singing “Roshan sama”"Bhini bhini” everyday.

ARR You ROCK!!!

“Jai Ho” in Pune – A SuperHit!!!

Seems A.R. Rahman was elated to visit and  to perform for the first time in Pune.

“Namaskar, salaam and satsriakaal! A dream I had since a long time has finally come true today, and I’m here in Pune. We are going to have fun today with some good songs, some bad and some mistakes,”  The man with few words, Mr.A.R. Rahman  addressed the crowds with a laugh.

Raja Hasan’s Charisma:

Singer Raja Hasan belted out the popular ‘Masakalli’ from ‘Delhi 6′ and ‘Guzarish’ from ‘Ghajini’ and he was accompanied well by a female singer from Rahman’s troupe. But while ‘Masakalli’ had the crowd whistling along, it was Rahman’s “Dil Se” that had the entire crowd up and jumping on their feet. From his entry in a lift that looked like it was on fire, to his voice that reached a high few could dream of, Rahman did it all and elicited the loudest cheers of the evening. “I do not normally sing this song in shows, but I got too many e-mails asking for this particular song,” he said.

Then it was again Rahman, along with Raja Hasan who presented two sufi songs ‘Khwaja Mere Khwaja’ from ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ and ‘Arziyaan’ from ‘Delhi 6.’

As the show came to an end, Rahman sang ‘Jai Ho’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ as the stage bathed in tri-colour and the sky was lit with fireworks.

More than 1, 500 people participated in the fifth annual Sykz Lokhandwala Mini Marathon that Lokhandwala Residents Association had organised. Participants had to either choose the three or five km run. Five hundred people registered for the five km run and 1,000 ran in the three-km category.

First, it was the three-km run that was flagged off first from the Lokhandwala back roads at 7:45 a m, after which the five km run took off. This year, the organisers wanted to spread the message of love and peace among Mumbaikars. Says A Maheshwari, President, Lokhandwala Residents Association, “When we had our first marathon five years ago, the message was very clear, to make people run and become fit. This year, as our event took place after the 26 / 11 tragedy, the idea was to tell people that we will fight back come what may.”

Adds Nitin Gupta of Sykz gym, who are the official sponsors for the marathon, “We are very proud to be a part of this elite event, which has really grown over the five years. Each year, we get a lot of entries. However, we have to keep it to 1, 500, so

that we can control the crowds.” Says K G Samdhani, Conveyor, Sports Committee, Lokhandwala Residents Association, “We also had professional time-keepers and used Ham radios during the event. The start and finish was at the Lokhandwala back road.”

Right before the flag off, a two-minute silence was observed to pay homage to those killed in the November 26 tragedy. Remarks Ajay Kriplani of Four Bungalows, “This is my second year, and I had great fun in the event.” Agrees Poonam Jagota, a homemaker from Lokhandwala, who took part for the first time this year, “Even though I only ran some distance, and walked the rest, I wasn’t disappointed. I always wanted to take part in a marathon.

For next year, I will surely prepare myself and win the race.”

Amongst the celebrities, who showed up at the event were singers Raja Hassan, Kamal Mahrishi, Jojo and actor Susheel Jangira. Says Raja Hassan excitedly, “I would love to participate next year. I wanted to run this year. However, I had no time to prepare.” Opines Kamal Mahrishi, who also sang a song from his new album, “Each suburb must have its own marathon. It is good to see so many people turn up on a Sunday morning. It really shows their passion and spirit for the marathon.”

Jojo came first from bollywood side. All singers sang lot of songs for the people who died in the attack by terrorist. There was all categories for the people who came for marathon.People became emotional after hearing vande matram and other patriotic songs sung by Jojo,Raja Hasan and Kamal Mahrshi.
